1Training of Trainers on Life Skills2016-11-28 RGNIYD• Life skills training was conducted for 23 adolescent boys at Govt. Children Home for Boys, Royapuram, Chennai from 1st - 3rd November 2016. The objective of the training is to bring self-awareness among the adolescence & make positive changes in the behaviour and attitude of children and to enable them to practice these Life Skills on a daily basis to lead a healthy and happy living. • The LEAD program was conducted for 56 adolescent Girls at Govt. Children Home for Girls, Kellys, Chennai, from 16th – 18th November 2016. • Another program was conducted for 24 adolescent Boys at Govt. Observation Home for Boys, Kellys, Chennai, on 24th November 2016. • A two day residential Training of Trainers (ToT) programme on Life Skills was conducted on 28th and 29th November 2016 at RGNIYD. A total of 18 teachers (4male and 14 female) of Govt. Children’s / Observation Homes participated in this programme. • The LEAD program was organized for 19 adolescent boys participated at Govt. Special Home for Boys, Chengalpattu, Kanchipuram District, from 9th – 11th November 2016.
2Post training (Social Enterprise Leadership Training) workshop on sectoral themes2016-11-24 RGNIYDThe Social Entrepreneurship Training Impact Analysis, a Post training (Social Enterprise Leadership Training) workshop on sectoral themes was held on 24th November, 2016 at RGNIYD. Twelve participants (6 YWSDP, 5 new participants and 1 SELP participant) from Tamil Nadu and Puducherry participated and had a meaningful interaction with the Successful Entrepreneurs related to different sectors.
3Orientation Training for NSS Programme Officers2016-11-16 Regional Centre, Chandigarh7 day Orientation Training for NSS Programme Officers was organized from 16-22 November, 2016 at RGNIYD, Regional Centre, Chandigarh with an active participation of NSS Programme Officers from Haryana and Chandigarh. The training programme was organized to orient the newly appointed NSS Programme Officers to develop understanding about challenges and opportunities for youth participation including skills for meaningful engagement of youth in development process. During the 7 day training the participants learned about their role in NSS as a NSS Programme Officers through various sessions facilitated by eminent and experienced Officials from NSS and other resource persons. They were also taught various core competency skills like leadership, communication skills and facilitation skills which will help them in leading future projects and dealing with students of their respective NSS Units. The chief guest for the closing ceremony on 22 November, 2016 was Shri A. K. Dubey Ji, Honourable Secretary, Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports, Government of India along with Mr. Stanzin Dawa, Regional Director, RGNIYD, Regional Centre, Chandigarh and S. Sadhu Singh, Sarpanch, Village Sarangpur, Chandigarh. In the closing ceremony the participants shared their their learning from the training and appreciated the efforts made by the RGNIYD team for making the training programme a great success. The training programme helped the participants to attain detailed knowledge about the National Service Scheme and skills required for fulfilling the roles and responsibilities of NSS Programme Officer. Mr. Stanzin Dawa in his talk described how fast time flies when you are in the company of such dedicated, energetic and enthusiastic youth work professionals. The most significant change that we require today is to develop the competencies of people working with the youth such as teachers, motivators, mentors and guides to build a win-win situation for both the institutions and students of the institutes. The Chief-Guest Shri A. K. Dubey Ji, Honourable Secretary, Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports, Government of India appreciated the way the participants described the 7-day training programme by chanting shlokas and keeping themselves connected with the roots of our Indian Culture and also admired the modules of the training programme. The chief-guest Shri A. K. Dubey Ji, Mr. Stanzin Dawa and S. Sadhu Singh awarded the certificates and group photo to the participants.
4Orientation Training for NSS Programme Officers2016-11-22 Guru Jambheshwar University of Science & Technology, Hisar, HaryanaRGNIYD RC Chandigarh organized the Orientation Training for the 51 NSS POs of Haryana at Guru Jambheshwar University of Science and Technology, Hisar. This training was specifically organized keeping in view the needs and requirements of the newly recruited NSS POs. This training was a combination of NSS and also life skills which enabled them gain the knowledge about NSS and at the same time making them aware about various life skills through various methooligies. Various sessions included the vision, mission, objectives, motto, NSS clap, NSS song, documentation, media management, resource management, administrative structure of NSS, budgeting which would help the Pos to conduct their work in a more effective and efficient manner. The sessions related to life skills included positive attitude, values, critical and creative thinking, leadership, team building which can further be inculcated in the volunteers. ‘This 7 days training has changed the way we think and we will try to apply all the learnings in our life, be it professional and personal’ said by Dr. Narender, NSS District Coordinator, Hisar.
